Get to know your 2019-20 NEFDHA officers

President

Lori Brusoski, CRDH,BS, is an active member of ADHA and has been a registered dental hygienist for over thirty years.  She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from the Medical University of South Carolina.  Currently, Lori is working with Dental Temps Professional Services providing patient care in the greater Jacksonville area.  She has worked with the Florida Dental Hygiene Association and the Florida Department of Health on the 2017 statewide Third Grade Oral Health Screening Project and the 2018 Head Start Oral Health Screening Project.  Lori also worked with the Florida Rural Health Association in 2018 providing dental screenings and fluoride to Head Start children in Putnam County. She is a dental hygiene examiner with the

Commission on Dental Competency Assessment (CDCA). She has previously been a faculty member teaching dental hygiene for Sanford Brown College in Jacksonville, Pensacola State College and Del Mar College in Texas.   Throughout her career, Lori has held several supportive positions in the local components of ADHA.  Lori enjoys exercising, cooking, traveling and spending time with her husband who has retired after serving as a Naval Officer.

President Elect

Darla Schultz, CRDH, BS graduated from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry, Dental Hygiene Program in Southern California in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene. After graduating, Darla worked in clinical dental hygiene for three years in Oklahoma and was located in remote farm communities.  Darla was the first dental hygienist in those offices. In 1987, she moved to Florida and worked in private practice for several years. The opportunity arose for her to enter the field of Education in which she worked 3 years teaching both in the classroom and in clinic. Currently she is working at a private practice in Neptune Beach. Darla has enjoyed getting involved in the NEFDHA and has served as Recording Secretary and Vice President the past few years.

Vice President

Janie Skinner, RDH,BS has been a registered dental hygienist for 26 years.  She is an active member of ADHA and currently is an alternate delegate for both ADHA and FDHA.  Janie achieved her Bachelors of Science in Dental Hygiene from St. Petersburg College.  Along with practicing in a private practice, she has dedicated a great portion of her career increasing the access to dental care for those with developmental disabilities.  Janie is a member of SNAG (Special Needs Access Group) that has the primary goal to expand the options to dental care for those with special needs in the Northeast Florida area.  She has worked with the Florida Dental Hygiene Association and the Florida Department of Health on the 2018 statewide Head Start Oral Health Screening Project.  Janie enjoys paddle boarding, reading, playing the piano, and spending time with her husband and seven grandchildren.

Treasurer

Annie Capener, CRDH, BS received her AAS in Dental Hygiene in 2012 from Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg, Illinois and went on to receive her Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from Wichita State University in May 2018. Annie has worked for several dentists in the Jacksonville area over the last six years and currently works for Periodontal Associates in Jacksonville. She also had the privilege of working as an adjunct clinical dental hygiene faculty member at Sanford Brown College for one year. Annie enjoys spending time with her family, reading a good book, crafting, and baking.

Recording Secretary

Cammie Davidson, RDH, BA, MEd, graduated with an A.S. in Dental Hygiene from Florida Junior College (now FSCJ) in 1985, a Bachelor of Arts from University of North Florida in1990, and Masters in Education from University of North Florida in 1998.  She worked in private practice for 15 years and was also employed as an Adjunct Clinical Professor in Florida Community College’s Dental Hygiene Program from 1993 - 2000.  Cammie is currently employed with Henry Schein Dental, 2000-current, as a Field Sales Consultant.  She has held executive board positions with NEFDHA in the capacity of Secretary, Vice- President, President-Elect and President, 1996 - 2001, and again as President-Elect and President 2015-2017.  Cammie also served as the Northeast District Trustee to FDHA in 2000-2001 and 2015-2016.

Corresponding Secretary

Beth Rucker, RDH, AS, earned both an A.A. degree and an A.S. degree in Dental Hygiene at Florida Community College (now known as FSCJ) in 1976, and has worked in private practice since that date.  Beth has held several leadership roles at the state association level and is currently NEFDHA's District Trustee which means she represents NEFDHA at all Florida Dental Hygienists’ Association Executive Board meetings.  She has served in this capacity for 12 years!  Beth participates annually at FDHA’s Smile Day in Tallahassee, and is also a volunteer and advocate for Special Olympics Special Smiles Florida.  She is well known as the local dental hygienist who first initiated email communication to our members.  Many of you still recognize her name as “bethrdh@comcast.net”.  

Immediate Past President

Angie Patel, CRDH, BS, has been a member of ADHA since 1991 and a dental hygienist for 27 years. Angie was previously our NEFDHA President 16 years ago. Angie is very active in the local, state and national association. She works for Acteon North America as a Clinical Educator and also owns her own business, Newimage Laser Hair Removal and Skincare in Jacksonville. In her spare time she loves spending time with her two sons Suraj and Shaan and her wonderful Husband Tarak. She is ready for Northeast to bring in new blood and new ideas and is excited for the association to grow.
